SAMUEL KATARRO

Samuel Katarro writes his songs just like he plays them, with a feverish imagination that swallows him whole and sucks us into a vortex of his favourite music: Pere Ubu and Syd Barrett, Gun Club and Jon Spencer, Charlie Patton, the great Bluesmen that played for the lost souls of the great Depression. He is an informal and paradoxical bluesman, a musical street painter that depicts a world described as “tragic, grotesque, naif and comic-like, almost Burtonesque”.
